Appointed to extend and refurbish this studio house, our brief was to banish dark from the central spaces and improve the connection between dining and kitchen areas.
The design brought light in through rooflights and new glazing to flood it with direct sunlight and open up new views of the surrounding neighbourhood. A reworked layout made room for a new second bedroom, to the delight of the client.
Large oak sections and zinc cladding are used to conceal the frame for a glazed room that seems to dissolve into the landscape.
The client said, “There was something about that project, just something different. It was definitely my favourite project so far.”
