ELSTREE
A net-zero retirement community configured around a wilderness walk with an extraordinary oak tree at the centre
FOR RETIREMENT VILLAGES
Centred around a wild and curated landscape, our plans for Retirement Villages in Elstree propose to deliver much-needed, quality retirement homes for Elstree.
A cluster of five blocks sit around a central Oak tree, working within the parameters of a heavily varied topography to provide accessible homes and nestled within the wider landscape.
Our proposals aim to achieve a bio-diversity net gain with various routes throughout the site encouraging residents and the local community to wander through the wild and curated landscape, before settling at the northern wild corner and enjoying views across the historic Aldenham Plane.
THE ROMAN ROAD
Derived from the anglo-saxon phrase “Tidwulf’s Tree“, Elstree sits on the historic roman route to London, with Elstree said to be the last stop before arriving at the capital.
THE CENTRAL OAK
The designs manifest themselves as a series of buildings nestled within the landscape, sympathetic to the existing condition and anchored by the central Oak tree sitting at the heart of the development.
WELLNESS
The developed designs place an emphasis on wellness for both its residents and the local community. A high percentage of homes are dual aspect with generous windows to maximise daylight, providing views of Elstree and further.
